Remembrance Day is one of the most significant events in our calendar with the whole school coming together to pay their respects and give thanks for the immense sacrifices made by our armed forces.
The pupils spent time this term learning about the war and making poppies to create a tribute to the fallen in the School grounds. They silently and respectfully walked around the school to plant their poppies in the remembrance field. An upper school pupil represented the armed forces which was a poignant reminder of the young people who served in the forces.
The pupils and staff then gathered for an emotional service to remember the great sacrifices made with contributions of poems and songs by our young people. The Last Post was played and a minutes silence was observed by all. It was a very emotive moment to see little ones respectfully bowing their heads in silence to honour the many service men, women and animals who lost their lives in the service of their country.
The senior school pupils then walked to the cenotaph were they held a small service of remembrance before laying a wreath.
