During the period of remote learning (6th – 15th January 2021), staff will provide learning opportunities and wellbeing support for our pupils.

Notifications and details of work set by class teachers can be found using Class Charts.

The work set will usually be available using Google Classroom and can be accessed by following this guide.

             

How to use Google Classroom

Using Xbox or PlayStation for remote learning

An alternative method of accessing remote learning during times of lockdown.

  1. Plug a keyboard in to the Xbox USB slot
  2. Go in to my games and apps
  3. Find Microsoft Edge and select
  4. Type in: Hwb and log in as you would in school
  5. You can then access your work through Google Classroom or OneDrive and use key packages including:
  • Word
  • Teams
  • Excel
  • PowerPoint
  • Your email
6. To move around you use the Xbox control or plug in a mouse

  1. Identify the PlayStation internet browser icon (it is WWW with dots around it)
  2. Press the PlayStation logo on the controller
  3. Go to the library and find options for games and applications
  4. Go in to applications and you will find the internet browser
  5. Type Hwb into the browser and log in as you would in school
  6. You can then access your work through Google Classroom or OneDrive and use key packages including:
  • Word
  • Teams
  • Excel
  • PowerPoint
  • Your emails.

On TV

  • Starting on Monday 11 January, CBBC will broadcast three hours of primary school programmes from 9am every weekday. They will include BBC Bitesize Daily, as well as other much-loved shows with an educational twist, such as Our School, Celebrity Supply Teacher, Horrible Histories and more.

  • Secondary students will be able to watch two hours of programmes supporting the curriculum on BBC Two every weekday. These will be complemented by drama adaptations, as well as relevant BBC science, history and factual programmes.

  • Bitesize Daily Primary and Secondary will also air every day on BBC Red Button, and episodes will be available on demand on BBC iPlayer.

BBC Bitesize also have resources specially designed to support your remote learning. Daily lessons can be found here for Years 1 – 9.
